Abstract：
The field of spintronics is rapidly expanding from metallic and semiconductor magnetic materials to insulator materials. In this talk, we present our most recent study on the spin information transfer through a ferromagnetic insulator. When a ferromagnetic insulator is sandwiched by two heavy metals such as Pt or Au, the electric current flowing in one of the metallic layer can induce an electric current in the other layer. We will discuss the mechanism for this prediction.
